The support and assistance I was provided after my surgery by the nurses and support Doctors on shift during this period was excellent and I want to uphold the work done by those unsung members of staff who are far less recognised. In an environment where the government constantly questions the validity and cost effective nature of services which we are provided by the NHS I can whole heartedly say that this institution is best served by the people in the front line and not by self serving politicians or governors. The work and dedication of the staff nurses ion their 12 hour shift was excellent. Never once wavering and constantly attentive when I needed it. They are a credit to the hospital and department. In addition the doctors were very much control of the situation and were attentive and clear in their explanations never once left me wondering what was happening.
