"A thought for those we meet briefly"

This review is for the staff I met briefly during my three day stay to remove an epidermoid cyst from my skull interior. I felt compelled to mention two groups in particular. Firslty the theatre staff. As an anxious patient this was the part I was dreading but once down there the staff made me feel at ease quickly. Looking around the room as the anaesthetist chatted I got a feeling of being surrounded by a "team", something that's spoken about in many work places but seldom true. This became more apparent when my consultant arrived because they seemed to be part of the team rather than detached, this was a calming feeling. Thank you for making me calm at my worse point of fear and please remain devoted to being part of your wonderful team, it does you credit and isn't celebrated enough. Secondly I'd like to thank the porters. During my stay I was mobilised through the hospital via wheelchair to several rooms for scans etc. Each time I'd see a new face yet everytime they were friendly and approachable. I special thanks has to go to the porter who wheeled me down for my operation. When it could have been so easy to say nothing this member of staff took it upon them self to offer a few words of encouragement and a promise to get me back to my bedside when it was all over. A simple few lines that gave me reasurence that the porter cared and understood and will always be remembered. The card and chocolates went to the ward staff but my heart felt thanks goes to those I met briefly on my journey through your hospital. Many thanks
