I gave birth to my twins on January 6th I was only 26 weeks at the time which was the scariest thing That me and my husband have ever had to go through. The maternity unit were out of this world I was looked after by two midwifes one which was a student they were amazing. I was very set on having no pain relief and they respected my wishes and supported me and my husband through the whole process. They were very transparent making sure that i was aware of everything that was going on and told me that the neonatal team were going to come down and talk me through what would happen next. Every person that we came into contact with were sensitive, professional and caring and I if I was to fall pregnant again I wouldn't go anywhere else to give birth. The neonatal unit were out this world just when we thought our care couldn't get any better this amazing ward saved our babies, helped us through the hardest time of our lives and supported us - from the housekeepers to the consultants/professor each and every member of staff on the unit were outstanding nothing was a bother and every single thing was explained to us in detail and if we didn't understand they would explain it to us in a way we did. Our twins were on the unit for a total of 76 days which consisted of intensive care, high dependency, special care and transitional care. Me and my family owe this unit our everything and because of them and what they have done for us we have set up a charity for the unit. Truly amazing xx.
