In June last year I was admitted to Warrington hospital eventually after two trips to A&E within 3 days and a lot of being fobbed of with a servere case of gout.
After a five day stay and being seen by a orthopaedic consultant and a Rheumatologist specialist I was allowed to go home but was in servere pain for another 4 months. I then had follow up appointments with both specialists.
The orthopaedic consultant did not seem to think anything was still wrong with my ankle and did not seem interested in helping at all. But the rheumatoid specialist agreed with me that my ankle was not right and ordered a MRI scan which revealed ruptured ligaments and a split tendon.
I then saw the orthopaedic consultant who said surgery would be needed to repair the damage - this was in December 2014. In February 2015 I signed the forms to consent to surgery. And was told it would be with in six weeks. About 12 weeks pasted and I went for a pre op in April.
It is now 15 weeks since my pre op and no date for my operation plus I have not even received one single letter regarding the operation. I saw my rheumatoid specialist and they said that is totally unacceptable the level of care I have received from the orthopaedic department of the hospital.
I can not thank the rheumatoid specialist enough as it was her who organized the mri and found the damage that the orthopaedic department did not seem to believe me about or more to the point care about me.
