"Long wait for urgent referral"

About: Good Hope Hospital / General medicine

(as a relative),

My father was referred and seen very quickly by the acute Medicine team at Good Hope, they were amazing from the start, kind caring and considerate.

However an urgent referral was made for a Neurology review in July the appointment came for the end of August which was cancelled the same day it arrived in the post and is now the end of September.

If that's what they call urgent I would hate to see how long the normal waiting list is. I feel this is a disgraceful treatment for an elderly gentleman who is having distressing symptoms that is effecting his quality of life.

Very poor service Heart of England get your act together.

Thank you for your post regarding your father's initial assessment by the Acute Medical Team at Good Hope Hospital. My apologies for any delay in responding.

I am sorry that your father has experienced a delay in being seen by the Neurology Team, and that despite being given an appointment, this was then postponed to the end of September.
