"The staff were very helpfull and ..."

About: Stafford Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The staff were very helpfull and friendly. I was treated very well while in hospital. Food could have been better but we dont expect anything else.

What could be improved

I feel that the nurses were very overworked. Very often at night there was not enough staff on

One occasion there was only 1 senior nurse on no health care workers so she had to look after 12 patients all on her own. When most of us had had surgery this was not good.

Anything else?

On the day I was discharged I felt like I was being thrown out I was asked to get washed and when I came back my bed was being stripped I had to sort my stuff out and sit on the ward until somebody could come to pick me up. This was done so you did not have to cancel any operations. This led to my District Nurse not being booked to come in and take by clips out so I had to get to my practice nurse to take them out which was very uncomfortable. I have no problem with the staff on the ward they were great just felt there was not enough staff available.
