Below is a copy of the letter that I sent to the stroke unit on 13 June. My partner Rosie recently spent some 3 months with you and I wanted to write a short note of our heartfelt gratitude to your entire team for your care both for Rosie and for me as a Daily visitor. I was constantly amazed and encouraged by the brilliant teamwork you all displayed obviously under some very difficult circumstances. Whether medical and nursing staff, cleaning staff, therapists or catering you all seemed to work towards the same goals. None of you ever seemed daunted when facing moment to moment difficulties. You all certainly exhibited the ethos of ‘one team, one theme’. The theme was foremost doing the best for your patients and from my view as a constant visitor I observed exactly that – excellent care for all those unfortunate people in your charge. The thought occurred to me that if our National Football Association went some way to consistently following your example we would win the World Cup every time. In our complaining society it is always beneficial to look for the good and give praise. This is very easy for me having observed every day for 3 months the fabulous job you all do at the Wexham Park Acute Stroke Unit. Please pass this letter on to the relevant hospital authority with my thanks, gratitude and appreciation. With kind regards. Jack – Rosie’s partner.
"Full of praise and admiration for the stroke unit."
