"professional staff during septoplasty surgery"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9)

(as the patient),

I just wanted to leave a message about how good I was treated when I went into monklands hospital. The staff were all absolutely brilliant on the ward and especially down at theatre. Everyone was so nice and on the ball. Theatre staff would chat away before the Op and kept me calm-I wasn't too nervous anyway- and it's always a good thing to keep your mind at ease. The staff on the ward qualified and trainee were all so professional. Just appearing randomly during the night to make sure we were on, bringing pain killers without having to ask, which is always a key thing because the pain never got out of control they were always on top of it. Dr Balaji was first class as well, a well respected ENT surgeon, he had seen how long I had my problem and got me in as soon as he good, visiting us all before the Op and twice after I definitely can't say enough about how good he done for my nose and all the staff who looked after me. Usually all you hear about are bad stories but I'm afraid to ruin people's need to moan and say mines was first class!

Dear John1967,

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide this feedback. The teams looking after you from the ward and operating theatre will be delighted to hear of your experience. The theatre staff are actively seeking the views of patients on a regular basis about their experience in theatre which as you say can be a very nervous time for patients. Effective management of any pain is important and it is pleasing to hear that the regular painkiller regime worked well for yourself.

I will make sure your comments are shared with Mr Balagi, the ward team and the theatre team.
