"A&E"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I attended the A&E Department 27.07.2015 by Ambulance due to an Asthma Attack. I had just left the Hospital that afternoon after having surgery due to a Ruptured Ectopic pregnancy the previous day. After having the surgery my asthma seemed to flare up quite bad, I was treated well and I was given the appropriate treatment before been discharged. I usually have my asthma well under control and I only suffer slightly with asthma when I get a chest infection. Anyway later that day I arrived at A&E, I was seen very quickly by a lovely nurse, the A&E Department was extremely busy, everyone seemed rushed off their feet. I was taken to a new room in A&E very quickly by the nurse to see a doctor. I explained to the doctor I had not suffered asthma attacks like this for approximately 20 years, I also went on to explain that the Paramedic was abrupt with me and quite rude as I panicked during my asthma attack. The doctor took the time to explain to me why I panicked and they got my asthma under control extremely quickly, something the Paramedic was unable to achieve. The doctor took the time to sit by the bed while I was using the Nebuliser and asked me how I was doing after my surgery. I was not there to be seen about my surgery but they knew I was in pain and I had recently been through alot. Not only did the doctor ask how I was doing they gave me some advice which came at the exact time I needed it. I did not get a chance to thank them for the excellent treatment I received or for their kind words. Doctors like this one really care about their patients, they went above and beyond to make sure I was treated well. The doctor is a credit to Sunderland Royal Hospital and a lovely person. Thank you for everything you did for me, you are an amazing person and an amazing Doctor. I am now recovering at home and I am getting my asthma back under control. Thanks again.
