I woke up this morning and could see out of my left eye again, it's early days yet and it may well be that the journey is not quite over but all that can be done is being done. The treatment I received yesterday by the consultant and their team was superb. In addition to this everyone working up on the fourth floor made the whole experience considerably less traumatic than it could so easily have been. The professionalism on show was of the highest standard but equally the compassion and care reminded me that in an increasingly harsh world, there are still people who dedicate their lives to the care of others.
