"My Dad was treated as though he was their own"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My dad was admitted to A&E then onto ward 4. The nursing staff on both areas were fantastic in every way. They were so sensitive and compassionate throughout a very difficult time for us all, I don't have the words to thank them. Both areas of staff showed real feelings and treated my dad as though he was their own.

What more can you ask.

I have been a senior nurse and head of department teaching care for 35 years and was so impressed with the care and attention we experienced at the most difficult time.

Thank you to the nursing staff in both areas.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear Weemac,

Thank you very much for these very kind words. It is clear that nursing staff in both A&E and Ward 4 cared for and met your father's needs in a person centred way which is our aim. I am delighted to pass on your comments to the nursing staff in both clinical areas.

Best Wishes,

John Kennedy,

General Manager, Older People's Services
