"Discomfort when carers put my stockings on"

I get a carer every morning and night from Premier Homecare. They come in to help me wash my feet and get my stocking on because I can’t bend over far enough to do this myself. I have problems with my hips and I’m quite stiff in my back and shoulders.

The service is alright, the girls are all nice.

My only issue is that it is a different girl every time, you don’t see the same person twice in a week. I had a new girl this morning I’d never seen before. You’d think they would introduce themselves but she just came to my door.

Some of them are not good at getting my stockings on and it hurts my legs when they don’t do it right. The hospital gave me a plastic bag thing to help get them on and it’s much easier and more comfortable when the girls use this. I ask them to use it but some of them don’t want to because they’ve never used it before – this is difficult because it’s different girls every day. I would like if they would always use the device from the hospital to put my stockings on.
