"A&E and Eye surgery"

About: Torbay Hospital

My 88 year old Mother was brought in to A&E having been extremely poorly for a week. They moved her through extremely quickly and thoroughly and quickly identified the problem as being her left eye. Treatment was started immediately and she was discharged two days later. Within a week she had received surgery to remove the cataract from her left eye to prevent a recurrence. She has repeatedly commented on how kind everybody was to her. The consultant and their team in the eye clinic were exceptional in how they treated my mother with every kindness and compassion. They kept me and my father informed at all stages. Nursing staff in EAU3 were also extremely kind and helpful during her original stay. I have every respect and admiration for all concerned and cannot speak highly enough of the treatment we received. Thank you all very much.
