My wife had to visit the A and E department today with problems with a pregnancy. And we were shocked when the nurse who took us in for consultation firstly decided it was appropriate to comment on the clothes being worn by my wife ( who had just got out of bed and rushed to hospital with bleeding) which had nothing to do with them and their opinion means nothing! Then to top that off when asked if this was baby number one and they replied that this is baby number 5, the judgemental nurse felt it necessary to come back with the comment ' oh you must get lots in benefits then '! Not only is this extremely rude and out of order, it's highly judgemental and disrespectful. Not everyone with children claim benefits, just because we are both still only 28-31!! We both work and I have what I feel is a good job as a firefighter. The complaint has gone in and I hope the above mentioned nurse gets a talking to and put on a Equality and Diversity & Dignity and Respect course ASAP as it would appear it is needed.
