About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My mother is a patient at this time on level six balmoral bldg the care and attention she is receiving from all staff is outstanding ,she is 89 and has many problems diabeties kidney problems and vascular the aim now is to get her strong but the problem starts here . I would. Like to know how after all the excellent care she has received you can serve up such a disgusting amount of meals day after day jkt potatoe cheese and beans mm sounds lovely on menu but arrives stone cold congealed beans rubberised cheese . Omelette ,like a plastic frisky stone cold . Yellow soup, no idea what flavour warm tho whoopee. Fish and chips Soggy and cold tomatoe and some sort of pasta stone cold undercooked .the list goes on after all the thousands of pounds that he been used on her care only to fail on her health by lack of food I have been bringing food in but not allowed to use microwave to heat up . She has served in ww2 and worked all her life mostly in catering and has paid her contribution to society so it really annoys me that after all the care she is receiving we feel very let down by the slop you are serving up for patients ,does it come in a heated trolley even as when it gets to top floor its stone cold .Her health will deteriorate soon if something is not done about the food .other patients on same ward agree. She cannot live on snacks a very quick response is needed or these poor patients will go downhill very quickly.its been the same menu over and over don't they ever change it around for those that are for a long while .

Dear reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are pleased to hear how well your Mother is being cared for but really sorry to hear that the food is not of a high standard. We would like to look into this so we can improve the food service for the ward where your Mother is staying. Could you send the ward details to communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and we'll pass this feedback on. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester's Hospitals
