Attended Holme Valley Memorial hospital to see Dr Wright for an evening appointment at 19. 00. My appointment was regarding a? cyst to my upper back that I had had for 2 years but which had increased in size over the last 6 months. Weirdly the swelling had reduced in size since booking my appointment.
I rang and spoke to the receptionist to see if it was worthwhile me still attending as didn't want to waste any ones time if deemed not necessary. The receptionist was extremely helpful and had a warm, friendly telephone manner which helps. She informed me still to attend which I did.
I arrived a little early and was seen early, greeted by an extremely friendly nurse who I think was called Lucille or Lucy? I was shown in to see the Dr who in turn was friendly, informative and gave explanations as to why I still needed to attend as the swelling could also increase at any time. He recommended that he remove the cyst for this reason. I was taken to the treatment room and Lucille? ? introduced me to all the other staff members in there. Everyone was very friendly and full explanations were given prior to the procedure. I was made to feel relaxed. It was also great to hear the Dr conversing and joining in the conversation that the other staff members were having, giving the impression that there was good team working relationship amongst all levels.
Advice was given re aftercare and Lucille ensured we got out as all doors were locked! ! !
A very positive experience and lovely clean, modern surroundings too.
"Good team working"
