My father, who has a history of heart disease, suddenly collapsed on Friday night - the night before my brother's wedding - for no discernible reason. The ambulance crew (Veh 7402 - Jon and Emma from Nailsea) arrived within minutes and were absolutely top-notch, along with the specialist cardiac responder (Mark) who attended. They could not have been more professional and good-natured, and the care they gave him was second to none.
He was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary A&E department, where the team in the Majors unit (Doctors Steven and Jemma and nurse Jess) were just as friendly and attentive - even more remarkable given that the department was very busy.
He was eventually moved to the Medical Assessment Unit (Doctor Claire and Nurses Polly and Harriet), where they kept my mother comfortable whilst he slept, and even ensured that the following day she made it to the wedding on time. Our entire family is extremely grateful to everyone involved for being absolutely brilliant.
"Fantastic response by ambulance and hospital team"
