"Pain team outpatients service and MRI scanning..."

About: Mount Vernon Hospital Site

Having been sent to mount vernon for a diagnositc MRI on my neck and spine and waiting weeks for the results I was then informed by my doctor that they had not even bothered to scan my neck in this appointment despite it being requested. This meant I have had ongoing issue for over a year now. When I finally got referred to the pain team for an appointment they could not help me fully because the scan on my neck had not been done. Furthermore I am still waiting for my follow up appointment for neck injections which they haven't even bothered to send me a letter out for not even to say I am on the waiting list. One of the receptionists who works at the pain team is incredibly rude and made me very upset in an earlier encounter when I phoned a day later following an appointment and explained that the examination I had with the doctor had completely put my back and neck into a locked painful spasm to which they just said that it wasn't their problem and they couldn't do anything. Overall the staff seem very unhelpful and in the case of the scanning department incompetent at reading what has been requested of them which leads to ongoing detrimental effects to patients health. If you have a choice do not book to go here for a scan or any other outpatient appointment for that matter!
