I arrived at A&E with breathing problems on Tuesday 14th July at about 5am. I was seen very quickly and all the nurses and doctors were extremely caring, addressed my symptoms and within minutes I was feeling more comfortable. Everyone worked together efficiently and effectively and I felt in safe hands. I was move to the assessment Unit and after a period of observation and further tests, I was moved to Albury Ward. I was here for a week, during which time I received excellent care from the nursing and support staff and also from the consultant and the team of doctors. There was good liaison between departments respiratory and cardiac - a member of staff visited me in order to support my discharge from hospital. While in hospital, the NHS were featured in the media with two stories - ' older patients not being treated with respect or dignity' and the poor quality of food provided'. This was not true, in my experience. All the nursing staff were very respectful and kind to all the patients, especially the elderly and frustrated at being in hospital. I had a good choice of menu options for each meal. While not the same as home cooked food, the meals were tasty and there was a great variety. I was pleased to eat them. I am very grateful for the high quality health care that I received, which resulted in a good recovery. A very big thank you to all the staff at the hospital.
"Thank you to staff at the RSCH"
