"NHS 111 service"

About: Broomfield Hospital

On Friday, after my partner had been feeling unwell for 2 days with sickness, diarreoah and severe stomach cramps, I contacted the 111 service where my call was answered within 5 minutes and all the details taken by the operator. This member of staff was friendly, understood and asked all the right questions. The outcome of the answers given resulted in us needing to see a GP within 3 hours and that the out of hours GP service would call us shortly. After 45 minutes, my partner received a call from the Prime care team who quickly booked us an appointment to attend our local hospital, Broomfield Hospital. We attended and waited 20 minutes where we were seen by a GP and my partner had an ezailmination and some tests which came back OK, he was prescribed medication and we was back home within the hour. No need for a 4 hour wait in a&e taking up valuable staff time and potentially taking that help away from someone more in need. Would highly recommend the 111 service to the public! Don't believe everything you read about the service! Thanks :)
