About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Appointment notification letter clearly states "For any queries relating to this procedure please phone Eye Day Case Unit on 02392286931. Open Monday - Friday 7.30am-3.30pm" Despite repeated attempts to phone between 7.30 and 8.15 Monday 27th August nobody has picked up. Is the letter incorrect?

Dear gdad I am very sorry to read of the difficulty you have experienced in contacting the Eye Department. Please be assured that your comments have been forwarded to the area concerned. However, if you would like us to get someone from the department to contact you, then please contact our PALS Team at: PHT.Pals@porthosp.nhs.uk or via the free phone on 0800 9176039 to allow them to discuss this and obtain further details. Kind regards. Debbie

Dear gdad

The Head & Neck Business Services Manager confirms that the information provided in the letter you received is correct. She explans that this is a very busy reception desk and the staff member may have been dealing with patients arriving for surgery.
