"Delivering services to young people"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – Community(County)

(as a carer),

My daughter has been seeing a Family support worker/ Counsellor since February and the contact has done her so much good. I was excited to see new and better services are planned for the City and south and filled in the survey with enthusiasm..

Now I find out that the Counsellor and 2 colleagues at Ashfield Health and Wellbeing Centre are losing their jobs. This despite there being a big backlog of people on the waiting lists.

Where is the parity between areas? What is the duty of the service to meet demand and deliver services to children and young people?

Good Afternoon Jerome, Thank you so much for taking the time to post your story on Patient Opinion. I am really pleased to hear that you and your daughter have found the service helpful, particularly from your allocated worker.

We are all extremely excited about the proposed service changes and it is helpful to hear your positive feedback regards the proposals. It is hoped that our new integrated services will be much better equipped to respond to the needs of children, young people and their families requiring a mental health service. I would like to reassure you that there are no planned job losses within our Community CAMHS service and we are looking towards creating a number of new posts moving forward. However, we do have staff who are currently in temporary contracts and we are actively encouraging those staff to apply for substantive roles. I would be really pleased to speak with you further about your concerns and also to obtain more details so I am able to feedback to our individual worker, as we feel it is important that we celebrate such achievements. If you wish to get in touch please ring Thorneywood 01158440501, and I would be happy to speak with you.
