"Small intestine resection ran smoothly"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

You can imagine that the news that such an operation is required is a big shock. After 18 months' investigations at our local hospital, my husband was referred here, and the speed and accuracy of diagnosis and subsquent treament have been extremely impressive. We have every confidence in the skill and professionalism found in this hospital. We have not been fobbed off. We have not been rushed through. At every stage we have been treated with respect, and staff have been able to take time to explain the various tests and procedures. This hospital is the tops. The operation done, my husband is now receiving first-class care on the ward (ward 11). The staff there are down-to-earth, very friendly and practical, and are prompt to answer queries.

Thank you for your comments posted on the NHS Choices and Patient Opinion websites regarding your husband’s treatment at the Manchester Royal Infirmary and his subsequent care on Ward 11. It was very kind of you to write and compliment the staff, as it is good to receive positive feedback, which reflects the hard work and dedication of our teams. It was also reassuring to hear that you have both been treated with respect and kept informed at all times of your husband’s treatment plan, as this is the standard we expect for all our patients, their families and carers. I can assure you that we have passed on your thoughts to Ward 11 and the staff involved.
