"My wife couldn't get a CT scan"

My wife was taken into the Royal Gwent Hospital by Ambulance. I had to ring the Hospital 10 times after speaking to Admissions Department and Accident & Emergency department I got through to a nurse who refused to tell me anything about my wife condition all she said was your wife is an adult and I cannot discuss any patients details over the phone. The nurse would not help me with my enquires about my wife.

After ringing all around the Royal Gwent asking for the hospital manager / director I was finally informed that my wife has a blood clot on or in her lungs and they would be giving her an injection to thin her blood and she was going to be given tablets to suppress the pain coming from her lungs.

I was also informed by a doctor that my wife could not have a CT Scan because it was a Saturday and I was told that on the Monday someone from the hospital Admin department will contact us to book an appointment for my wife to have a CT Scan.

I was also informed that the Consultant said my wife case is not an emergency so no need to have a CT Scan on Saturday.

In addition to my wife blood clot she is also struggling to breath without pain from her lungs.

I also rang the hospital three times asking to speak to a manager but she has not returned any of my calls.

At 11. 00 my wife arrived home and after speaking to my wife. It has now become clear that no one at the Royal Gwent Hospital has informed her that she has a blood clot on her lungs. My wife said she was told she has to comeback everyday for at 10 am for blood thinning injections and for a CT Scan next week. But no one mentioned to my wife that she has a Blood Clot on her Lungs.

In fact my wife already had a blood disorder she has a lack of iron in her blood cells and she is also asthmatic.

So after all the messing about from pillar to post by the staff at the Royal Gwent my wife was sent home with a prescription for some Co-Codomol tablets.

I feel that someone with a blood disorder who is having blood clot on there lungs is an emergency and shouldn't wait three or four days for a CT scan.
