"Keyhole surgery for bi lateral inguinal hernia"

About: Spire Portsmouth Hospital

My first ever operation as a fit and active man at the age of 61 and in all fairness a very good experience under the Consultant's care. Walked into the operating theatre around 1120 am, home at 5pm although I could have probably left around 4pm. Excellent attention and care from all the team from arriving to leaving. No pain post op, 2 days of painkillers, walked more and more very day for my 2 week sign off from work, building up to 8 miles. I have outpatients appt on 28th June to which I have nothing to report, only praise for the manner in which the procedure was conducted. Keyhole is the way to go if you are a suitable candidate, a question of playing spot the scars now, quite amazing. Originally I was referred as an NHS patient for open procedure, 2 separate operations, but I elected to pay as you go to get both a date that suited me and the benefits of keyhole surgery. Overall summary, highly recommended, can't praise highly enough.
