"Shoulder arthroscopy"

About: Hexham General Hospital

I attended Hexham for day surgery Tuesday 21 July. I was very nervous but was put at ease immediately by my nurse. The staff were all aware I suffer anxiety attacks and all the staff that saw me before my operation put me at ease. I wish to say a special thank you to all the aneasthetists for their superb nerve block procedure pre-op and witty banter which helped me a lot and the kind nurse who was in recovery - sorry I forgot your name but that was only as I was a little groggy. Also thanks to a particular member of staff from physio. The day surgery department was very private with individual booths that lock with plenty of space - I never saw another patient it was that private. Of course a special thanks too to the surgeon and their registrar for undertaking my procedure. I am starting physio today and although am not sure how long it will take before I am fully recovered, I am on the road to recovery. If I had to have further surgery in the future I would want it at Hexham Hospital. I cannot fault them in anything and cannot thank them enough for their absolutely fantastic care throughout. I have already recommended the place to a friend and was pleased others recommended the place to me. Thanks again Hexham. If I lived a little closer (I am from Cumbria) I would love to work there too.

Dear Kath, What a lovely, appreciative review this is - thanks so much for taking the time to let us know why you were so delighted with your care at Hexham. Your thoughtful observations will mean a great deal to the team on ward 3 and so we will be sure to pass them on. Thanks also for your kind recommendation to friends - gaining a reputation for excellence in all we do is extremely important to us. I have no doubt that you will be armed with lots of information from the team about all that will help you as you recover - I'd want to wish you the very best of luck in the months ahead. Do please come back to us if you have any concerns at all. With best wishes and thanks again, Annie
