About: Royal National Throat, Nose & Ear Hospital

I am waiting to receive an appointment letter which I should have received already. Phoned main number, I got a 'robot' asking me to name the department I wanted to speak to. I named it: Nose, Ear and Throat hospital, and what do you know, the 'robot' could not recognize what I was saying so it kept repeating 'sorry, I could not recognize....'. I tried several times, then I hanged up and laughed. I guess that story would have been a good episode for a series like Father Ted or something. Bah ah ah. I guess I'll get some elecution lessons before phoning this hospital again. Seriously, it's pathetic. You phone an hospital and you can't get anyone on the line except a dumb useless 'robot', whatever the heck they call it.

We are sorry that you've had difficulty contacting the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital. The automated system is there to help reduce the time patients have to hold the line while waiting for an operator to answer the call. If it is unable to connect you directly, you will always be connected to an operator. In order to improve the automated system, we've taken your comments on board and will add different variations of the hospital name, including "Nose, Ear and Throat Hospital." If you have any further comments or questions, please contact our PALS team via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3447 3042.
