"Blood donor centre"

About: Edgware Community Hospital

Attended the blood donor centre at Edgeware. Whilst the set up is great (quick and efficient), I am not sure about cleanliness and general clinical competence. - I was asked by a nurse if I had had smallpox, which was eradicated before I was born - Never saw a nurse wash their hands even though they were attending to multiple patients - One nurse had the same pair of gloves on whilst dealing with dressings, talking to multiple patients and handling packs of collected blood This doesn't give the donor much confidence when they are having needles put in their arm voluntarily.

Hi there, we're sorry to hear that you weren't impressed with the blood donor centre at Edgware. We would be really grateful to get further information so that we can look into it and improve our service in the future. If you could, please email rf.communications@nhs.net with details. Many thanks, Rachel (digital communications manager).
