"Excellent surgery and aftercare experience"

I was at Highgate Hospital for a day case surgical procedure on my foot. The whole experience was excellent and I would strongly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs to have foot surgery. I wondered if I would feel any differently treated as I was an NHS patient, but I can confidently say that I was made to feel very welcome. The staff were all polite and friendly and their approach helped to relieve my anxiety on the day, to put me at ease and to make me feel I was in safe hands. The experience of having a private room where my relatives could sit and wait for me and be there when I came back from surgery made this experience very different to previous hospital stays. The room was a pleasant and clean environment and was definitely more like a hotel than a hospital! My consultant has been excellent throughout the pre-care, surgery and after-care. They have taken time to listen to my concerns and is continuing to advise me throughout the recovery process. The physiotherapy team have also been excellent both on the day itself and during the recovery process. I feel very lucky to have received such excellent care in such pleasant surroundings.
