"Re dissecting operation on 15th July"

About: Derriford Hospital

I was recently an in patient at Derriford hospital on Stannon Ward under the care of the consultant. My operation date was scheduled originally for 6th of July but was cancelled at the last minute due to a bed not being available. On 15th July I had a disectomy with nerve root decomoression with Foraminitomy. The care I received from all the staff was kind, caring, and considerate. I felt reassured at all times as I was in extreme pain and discomfort and very nervous for a life changing operation. The staff in theatre and the recovery room were extremely comforting and I was made to feel reassured before my anaesetic and I was informed of everything that they were doing. My over all experience was outstanding. The staff also on Stannon ward was outstanding aswell and dignity and respect was upheld throughout my stay there. The hospital should be extremely proud and recognised for the work they do day in and day out on long shifts. Derriford hospital should get all the support they need and deserve.
