My mum was taken in by ambulance to A+E on 20/ 07/ 15 with an infection . She also has 2 types of arthritis which is unbearably painful. Due to the infection, she was incoherent and could not understand questions that were being asked her. Most of the staff were lovely, so kind and patient with her. However, one doctor has a lot to learn about patient care all round. They asked her where her pain was, while manhandling her to put on a blood pressure cuff, causing her to scream in pain. They asked her where the pain was, but, being incoherent due to the infection, she just looked at them as she did not understand. I said to the doctor, her pain is all over due to the arthritis, they turned to me and said abruptly, ' i am speaking to her ! not to you ! .. She is incoherent i said, due to the infection, she does not even know where she is, the doctor ignored me and carried on manhandling mum causing her great pain.We then had a huge argument and they said that they did not want to hear my opinion. Mum managed a few words that were irrelevant, they then turned to me and said in a sarcastic manner,' there she can speak, now can't she' ! and walked off. I cannot believe that someone with that kind of attitude is in a job like this! The doctor was altogether a nasty nasty person and should not be allowed to treat patients. They are completely in the wrong job. We understand that the staff have so much to cope with. Everyone else was so good, but this doctor was completely out of order. With an attitude like that, i feel sure that i am not the first person to have had a bad experience. I just wish they could see my post so that they can see how people feel about their inadequate so called professionalism.
"A 'so called' doctor !!"
