"Nasal Cautery by Silver Nitrate"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I was sent to QA with a uncontrollable nosebleed by St Richards Hospital on the morning of Tuesday 14th July 2015. I was admitted to ward D8 following a procedure undertaken on my nose by a specialist. This stopped the bleeding. The following day another specialist removed the pack from the day before and carried out the procedure with silver nitrate. I was allowed to leave an hour or so following this. Both specialists were top class - highly effective and efficient but also amazingly reassuring and friendly - helps no end when at a low ebb and anxious. Every member of the Hospital staff seemed to go that extra bit to look after me - thank you all so much - NHS at its best!
