"Disabled parking charge"

About: Royal Free Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

Parked in a disabled bay at the royal free with my grandma, displaying her blue disability badge. Parked for less than two hours. Received a Penalty Charge Notice from Parking Eye. Is this some sort of joke? Photos of the car on the notice show the blue badge! I cannot believe a hospital would issue a parking charge to a registered disabled person.

Hi Shabiiish, we offer free blue badge parking for up to four hours at all of our hospitals, however all blue badge holders have to register their blue badge at reception the first time they park in each car park.

This is clearly stated on all our signage, however we are very sorry that you missed it on this occasion.

If you email rf.pals@nhs.net with details of your visit and the penalty charge, our patient advice and liaison team will look into this for you and see if there is anything they can do to help you in this instance.

Thank you.
