"mental health"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I used to think the NHS in Wales was bad until I came here, don't get me wrong some of the staff are lovely but on the whole I have never seen such patronising arrogant people in my life. The security team are naive, it's almost like they're on a power trip, the police hospital lol. You get told your going to see someone soon, then get transferred to hear that actually it isn't going to happen, I would love to see an undercover reporter to film the state of this hospital, no beds ? But plenty available in the corridor ? As I explained to the nurse that I got raped last year, their reply was deal with it in my own time ? Was I a difficult patient, well yes I have BPD but surely it would be better not to antagonise me or patronise me. As for the mental health team, wow , you go in,eventually they see you, they say they won't speak to you until your sober ( I agree) but then wake you up, still half drunk slightly confused.... But as they can't be arsed there going to do a quick fix.... Now it's am and yes alert and able to communicate, you say I'm ill and there is something wrong with me,what do I get told ? I've already been seen and then told I need to take responsibility, well yes I have that's why I drink and that's why I despise myself.... I go to my local GP to be told that I was verbally aggressive ? tell me what constitutes verbally aggressive? Did I swear ? No Im just factual..... I say what I think....

Dear Stephanie, Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. We are really sorry to hear about your experience of our A&E department at the Royal. Your experience does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive and we would like to investigate your concerns so we can improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please email your details to me - Julie.A.Dixon@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and I'll look into it. Kind regards Dixon Julie Senior Site Manager Leicester's Hospitals
