"Best hospital I've ever come across"

I brought my Mum in through the A and E department which was pleasant and efficient. We were transferred up to the review wards and taken there by a porter who introduced themself and explained what was going to happen. As we had a long wait they managed to get me a drink, as I had been with Mum all afternoon and night. The doctor came and did their examination and evaluation, explaining what they were doing every step of the way. They explained what the problem was and what further investigation they would be doing. Then the doctor explained that they would find Mum a bed on the relevant ward (cardio vascular gate 33b). This ward is fantastic in every concevable way. The staff are fantastic, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They are very patient and extreamly professional in carrying out their dedicated tasks. If you require any information about your mother, if they don't know the answer then they find you someone who can answer you. Mum was on this ward for six weeks or more and since I used to work in a hospital (under the old Matron rule that we all thought was better) I am very critical. However I could not find fault with them then and I cannot find fault with them now that she is back. The doctors were very patient with me explaining everything so that I could understand, which is important as Mum forgets some of what is said to her and I would have to reiterate it later after the doctor had gone. At one point Mum was in ICU and again they were professional but friendly, the care Mum has received is first class it could not be better if we had gone private (which we can't afford). The standard of everything from housekeeping to the doctors were and are with out doubt the very best. I would say that this hospital is the elite of hospitals from the staff to the standard of work they produce. The cleanliness is above and beyond anything I have seen from Scotland, Wales or here in England. I am so glad Mum was sent here. It has been a warm professional and friendly experience.
