First of all, nice location, great that there's free parking. The waiting area clean and comfortable.. But seems to be a class system in place, with a separate waiting area for private patients. I had been referred to an NHS gynaecologist. It was good that a cause to a long term issue was finally discovered, and a referral for surgery was made. I expressed a wish for a spinal anaesthetic as I have had similar treatment done with a spinal before, and my wishes were brushed aside in favour of general anaesthetic,as that is more convenient for them because they can send me home sooner. Having read other reviews on here about patients feeling forced home before they feel ready, I am not at all feeling comfortable with the thought of letting this hospital continue with my care. I visited my GP this week, they were surprised I had not been asked to come in for a pre op appointment, which I have learnt is not only for medical checks, but also to discuss any concerns. Again this is making me feel very uncomfortable with my treatment here. Today, one week before my surgery date, I have attempted several times to contact the hospital and have left a voicemail, yet I have not had any response. I have now decided that I am going back to my GP to ask to be re-referred and I will go back to a good old nhs hospital.
