Terrible worst experience. When becoming a first time mum your already nervous and not knowing what to expect. The midwives here do not put you at ease on the main ward, oh my it was terrible. I was shoved around and made to feel a waste of time when i went in at 35 weeks loosing fluids around the baby. The girl next to me was also crying and she was loosing blood asking to go home after how she was treated by staff and made to feel uncomfortable. I was wheelchaired by one staff into a the side of the wall whilst heavily pregnant because the midwife didnt have time for me and was angry with me i was then shouted at on the bed to sit up well they attached the heart monitor round my stomach and then they stabbed the pin in my skin hard. Oh it was dreadful. When i had my daughter i was loosing lots of blood and it was a heatwave outside i was dehydrated with exhaustion they wouldnt help me with my daughter and kept closing the curtain on me, they then let me out and i collapsed at home had to be rushed in to be put on a drip then spent a few days in hospital to be monitored loosing time with my newborn. The head of department came out to me and just defended her staff and the system saying we should count ourselves lucky in most countries they dont have free medical care. Didnt really get an apology. I am dreading my 2nd child being born here or being looked after by these midwives. GP midwives fine health visitor fine also doctors ok outpatients midvives that monitor you are ok too just the actual ward is terrible when you have to stay in under there care.
