Thank you for providing comments about your patient journey.

The Trust aims to ensure that patients who live in England who are referred for treatment by their GP receive their hospital appointment for treatment within 18 weeks. Since this national website is anonymous your contact details are not shared with individual hospitals. This means that we cannot comment on the specific circumstances of your referral and how soon your treatment is likely to begin.

Depending on your pathway, this period of 18 weeks may well have started with your pre-operative assessment appointment. Your appointment for treatment would normally be within 18 weeks of that appointment. For example, if your pre-op appointment was on 2 June then the appointment for treatment would normally be on or before 6 October. This only provides an indications of typical waiting times, as in some cases you may be seen much more quickly (e.g. for urgent referrals) or some patients may experience longer waiting times (e.g. currently the NHS in Wales has longer waiting times than the NHS in England).

If you have questions about your treatment please feel free to contact the people mentioned on your original appointment letter, or contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (www.sath.nhs.uk/patient_information/pals)

Thanks again for taking the time to comment on our services.
