"Thank You!"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

I had cause to be admitted through A&E to Ward 60 the weekend of July 11th 2015 and without exception cannot praise enough every staff member involved. Yes there was a wait in A&E before admission but this was not due to staff sitting around doing nothing but staff being constantly extremely busy. However throughout the period I was given a very comfortable trolley in a cubicle which remained mine throughout so a little patience was not a lot to ask. Once admitted to the Ward I was given a warm welcome and received what I feel was extremely high standards in every aspect of my care from the porters who were all very kind to the CT-Ultrasound-X-Ray department and in particular when I had to have a bolus removed (OGD) on the Sunday a team was brought in on-call but were exceptional in dealing with a very nervous patient. On the ward itself the domestic staff were excellent and provided what I would consider a deep clean daily and were always pleasant and courteous. I was on a soft diet and the catering staff went above and beyond to not only ensure I got a soft diet but also enquire what I would like and what that was I got even if outside the normal meal times. The staff, student and auxiliary nurses again were second to none without exception all being positive, caring, compassionate and supportive in the care they delivered and all done with a smile despite being under non-stop pressure. All in all the professional and care I received was second to none so for anyone reading this who is a little anxious rest assured if you receive even half the care I received you will be well looked after. Hospitals are not the places any of us want to be but when necessary it is reassuring if you feel well cared for. So a huge thank you to everyone and if I have forgotten anyone I do apologise but you too were excellent and although I hope never to have to return to hospital which I’m sure you’ll understand…….lol…but if necessary I certainly won’t be concerned about the quality of care I will receive if this experience is the standards delivered. So once again thank you. Cheers Jacinta Murray
