Yesterday I had an appointment for a colonoscopy.The endoscopy staff in Ward 1 WGH are a great team, understanding, caring. Working under stress does not seem to change their attitude to patients. I am speaking about my experience there yesterday. I originally had appointment for 2pm, the specialist nurse had to phone me in morning to reschedule for 3.30pm. When we arrived at WGH, we were told they were running late. All the time they kept us informed about the delay which was obviously outwith their control. I eventually had my colonoscopy about 6.45pm and all the staff expressed their apologies for my delay. Even after the procedure, the doctor went out and apologised to my husband. Never once did I hear anyone complain about their long day. Today, I have had a follow up phone call from the specialist nurse to check that I was OK. Thank you all for being so caring and understanding, .
