"The maternity hospital was clean ..."

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The maternity hospital was clean and comfortable, I was provided with the drugs I needed and attended to quickly

What could be improved

As this was my second baby I felt I was left to get on with things a bit

Anything else?

Due to the ward being full I was given a side room. My baby was asleep and my husband had gone home so I got some well needed sleep following a traumatic birth (4hours after having the baby) someone I know from my town was in a different ward (she was not due yet) her mother was visiting her and heard I had given birth. I realise the midwifes are incredibly busy but this girls mother arrived in my room I woke up to find her standing over my baby's cot. There was nothing sinister about this she had come to visit me but, my husband and I had agreed my eldest daughter would be the first visitor and he had gone home so that I could get some sleep. This lady was no relation and It would have been nice to have been asked rather than just point her to the room and let her walk in.
