"Patient service, or lack of"

Our doctor's surgery used to deal with ear syringing, with a same day appointment. Now they no longer offer it because a new 'efficient' service has been set up. I phoned for an appointment and was told there is a seven week wait.

And that is supposed to be efficient?

I won't go into details on here, but the appointment was needed for a very elderly lady who was unable to walk because of balance problems caused by a blocked ear.

Is it a secret government plan to try and persuade people to go private and save the NHS money?
