"Chesterman 4 ward - Northern General Heart Bypass"

I was pleased by the regular visit from the registrar and constant nursing whilst staying on the Chesterman ward for a heart bypass. I would like to thank Mr Hopkinson, Mr Vaughan and the team and all the nursing staff and PTU staff on Chesterman 4.

My one and only complaint was on the morning of the operation I was ready to go to theatre for 8am and my wife was told the previous night I would be first down. I was still waiting after 12 not knowing what was wrong till an anaesthetist came to ask if I had any objection to have Mr Hopkinson do my operation as the surgeon I was under had an emergency during the night. I felt I could have been kept better informed and I also think they could have let my wife know that I had not gone to theatre at 8am as planned as she suffered the ordeal of my op twice.
