My wife had a fall on the way home to Portsmouth she was taken to Dorchester hospital and had a hip replacement operation the care and treatment was excellent 98% of staff we very good.. I have only one complaint the visiting hours, one hour in the afternoon and one hour in the evening I had to travel from Portsmouth each day for over two weeks a round trip of 160 miles each day . I visited in the afternoon then had to disappear for three and a half hours before the evening visit then travel home some staff were good and gave me concessions to stay longer outside of visiting hours but these were few and far between I clocked up nearly 2000 miles and around £70 in hospital parking. I am 75 years old and my wife is 72 there needs to be some sort of definite ruling on people who have to travel long distances to visit , I was arring home at night and going straight to bed, perhaps 2 to 21/2 hours in the afternoon would be good this would allow people to travel and arrive home at a reasonable time. I say thanks again for the very good treatment my wife received.
