"Treatment of my father in stroke unit"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

My father was sent to East Dean ward from Conquest, Hastings on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Despite dreadful delays in getting transport, once he got to Eastbourne the staff on the ward were wonderful. They were helpful and supportive to both my father and myself, treating us kindly and with great patience through a difficult and confusing time. They dealt with a potentially humiliating situation with great humanity and I am more grateful than I can say.

Dear Wendy Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS choices about staff in the Stoke Unit at Eastbourne DGH. We're pleased to hear that you and father felt fully supported at a difficult and confusing time. As a Trust, it's always our aim to provide high quality care and support to patients and their families. The staff on the Stroke Unit will be pleased to hear that they achieved this for both of you.
