"Emergency response and care after suspected stroke..."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

While on holiday in St.Ives I experienced symptoms of a stroke, and after calling111 the entire process of patient care was incredibly well managed. As it was 7 am I was fortunate that all responders were available andthe paramedic was at our house in a short time and was efficient and thorough. The ambulance men, who took me to Truro, were prompt and extremely kind and professional. The trainee had brilliant interpersonal skills and put me at ease. At A&E the Stroke team were expecting me and every possible test carried out immediately. Thank you to the Sister. I could not have asked for better treatment, and I noticed the whole hospital was clean and welcoming. Thank you also to the staff of the Stroke Unit who were cheerful, friendly and professional. This is the NHS at its best. Truro/Treliske Hospital should be proud. Yours gratefully, Helen Cullen Friday 3/7/2015. Date of Admission.
