"I felt safe and cared for"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / Cardiology

(as the patient),

The team in the Cardiac Catheter Suite at the QEQM hospital in Margate were marvellous to be during my recent visit. They were professional, kind, caring, knowledgeable and funny. They explained what would happen to me during my angiogram.

I felt safe and cared for.

My only criticism about my visit has nothing to do with the CCS but do to with my appointment letter. I was asked to enter the hospital through the Ramsgate Road entrance and take the lift to the first floor. The lift doesn't go to a 'first floor' but to the 'ground floor" (the main entrance is on the lower ground floor). The CCS is within the Heart Centre which is sign posted in the main corridor. The letter should have mentioned this. I know with the benefit of hindsight, it was obvious but when you are in a hurry to get to your appointment, you sometimes need to be told the obvious.

Thank you so much for your posting. I am so pleased to hear that you were cared for well. I am so sorry to hear about the confusing letter and will ensure the teams are made aware to put this right. I do hope you continue to recover well.

Sally
