"The nursing staff were very professional ..."

About: Luton & Dunstable Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The nursing staff were very professional and friendly. I arrived on a very busy ACU ward and the staff admitted me in a very efficient way. I was very impressed with all the staff I uncounted during my two day stay; from the receptionist to the doctors.

What could be improved

The overall management and organisation seemed very poor. After being scheduled for release at 10 am it took until late afternoon before I could leave and then my son had to return in the evening to collect my medication and doctor’s letter. Again the individual staff tried really hard but they were let down by the system.

We are proud of our staff and their high level of professionalism - thank you for your kind comments which will be passed on to ACU.

It is unfortunate that there was a delay in the discharge procedure. We believe this was because we are in the process of implementing a new system for electronic discharge letters and this is still in its early stages. Please accept our apologies for the delay.
