The best thing about my fathers treatment at the stroke unit was Jill, the physio, she was caring and good. I would like to thank her.
There was no occupational therapy assessment for one week, about which, we felt frustrated... we were not given an explanation why, perhaps lack of staff? Claire the Occupational Therapist was not happy with the situation.
Jill referred my father to the community physio and there was an 8 week waiting list! Just in time for when he goes back in for surgery.
I thought my father would get concentrated rehab, this did not happen. They arranged for earlier discharge and the physio gave us a list of exercised and a telephone number if we had any problems, luckily I am an ex district nurse.
