"Endoscopy Unit"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

I attended the Endoscopy Unit this morning for a Colonoscopy. To say I was terrified would be an understatement...even had cancelled this appointment four times since first referred I last December. The Nursing Staff were fantastic. I was reassured, my fear heard and understood and the whole procedure explained in detail to me with patience and empathy. My dignity was preserved throughout the entire procedure in a calm and clean atmosphere. I am so thankful, as always, to the medical staff, the Doctor who performed the procedure and the lovely receptionist on the Unit. I so wish that I hadn't spent so much time worrying and stressing. The procedure was carried out and I did not feel any negative feelings and my fears were unfounded. Thank you everyone and Pilgrim for treating me with such dignity and respect today. it was hugely appreciated by a patient with definite "white coat syndrome" and who has, sadly, had a bit of a bad year healthwise but received a lot of positive care from Pilgrim Hospital during this time.
